How did common core come to pass?
The main reason is the change in political system. We have gone from a democracy, where we the people have a real voice, to an oligarchy, where we do not. We are now ruled by the elite and rich, who make our decisions for us based on what they can buy and fund.
Many counties transform over time, they are not static. It sometimes happens so subtly that it many are unaware of the change.
How does one fight such reforms like common core when the majority have no say? When money talks and fairness is a thing of the past? Is grassroots revolt the only option, and what is the success rate? That is the million dollar question. Can we afford to not provide an answer?
When Bill Gates and others like him can buy our schools, including all policy, where is democracy? When a small group of individuals can pave the path for decades of changes, unilaterally, simply because of the size of their wallets, where has democracy gone? Mistakes made by past and present leaders led to this overtake of our schools. If parents roll over and allow it, there is no chance for any escape.
Common core was signed onto by the states sight unseen, and still undeveloped. The oligarchs offered it, and made the schools race for it, as if it were a gift. True charity it was not. Anthony Cody’s book, The Educator and the Oligarch, will open eyes. Money cannot buy happiness, but it can buy the future.

That said, consider that we have allowed, via our lack of involvement or apathy, Corporatist entities of all persuasions, as well as corrupt and complicit government officials to hijack the most vital aspect of said responsibility … their education.
Common Core is being instituted by corporations, not educators, and funded in the billions by elitists, eugenicist, and global mega-corporations. Their purpose is to educate our children into being obedient workers, who will then be good consumers of their products. Let there be no doubt that these globalists will employ any means necessary, no matter how deceitful or depraved to achieve their ends.
